Hello. I’m Evelien.

I am the founder and principal attorney at Novo Family Law Group. My practice encompasses all facets of family law at all levels of complexity. I have experience handling cases with sophisticated assets rooted in venture capital, hedge funds, privately-held companies, start-up equity, construction, and real estate. Although most of my clients prefer to settle, I also have extensive experience appearing before public and private judges across the bay area.

Before turning to family law, I was a civil litigator at a first-tier international law firm. My civil practice included contract disputes, product liability, and labor and employment. Although my time in “Biglaw” provided me with invaluable training and experience, it was missing the “human” aspect of law. Family law affords me the opportunity to make a personal impact while applying my broad and extensive civil law experience.

I received my B.A. in International Relations from UC Davis as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. After taking a few years off, I returned to UC Davis where I received my JD, graduating in the top 15% of my class. During law school, I was Editor of the Law Review, served as a research assistant for two professors, and received multiple academic honors.
